CRUISING AND OFF-SHORE INSPECTIONS
Fitting out a boat for cruising can be expensive! Frequently we hear owners telling us the fitting out costs were way beyond anything they had imagined. Many of these same people tell us they spent money on things they didn’t need and never use. To help you avoid this pitfall we offer Cruising and Off-shore Inspections
We will inspect your boat and provide a report on her needs for the cruise you are planning. Reports will list problems we find in 3 categories, Health and Safety Items that must be address right away, Items you need to address before you leave and Items that will improve your comfort and enjoyment but can be done anywhere along the line including after departure on your cruise.
This inspection and report is not a hull and condition survey nor is it a valuation or insurance survey. Though we have spent many years surveying boats to determine repair costs we are not licensed surveyors. Our inspection and report is to inform you of what you need to do to bring your boat up to snuff for your planned cruise. Many people spend a lot of money in the wrong areas preparing their boat to go off cruising, our survey and report is designed to prevent over spending and still ensure your vessel will meet your needs.
Inspections and E-Mailed Report $15.00/foot plus travel expenses
Many times people are looking to purchase a boat that is outside their immediate area, many times the boat in question may not be quite as represented online or by the listing broker. If we are in the area where the boat in question is located we will be happy to get with your broker, visit the boat, take pictures and make a report as to the boats condition before you purchase a ticket to go see a boat that isn’t represented properly by the seller or sellers broker.
For the next year (fall 2017 to the end of Sept 2018) we will be in the Cape Ann region of Massachusetts and can easily visit boats from the Conn/New York border to Maine.
Pre-purchase Inspections with online photos and report $300.00 (up to 100 miles from Salem Ma.)
